Scott McClure Biography
Scott McClure was born on June 17th in Fargo, North Dakota. He grew up exposed to art, literature and history at a very early age. He began drawing, and writing stories and plays which were enriched by extensive travel and hands-on education. Scott began to set some of his writing to film at the age of twelve when he got his first camera.
Having skipped kindergarten, Scott attended school for only seven years, then opted to self-educate. Now able to learn at a faster pace, Scott had greater opportunity for travel to expand his horizons.
This choice also helped to further his interest and education in film. After seeing Raiders of the Lost Ark at the age of three, Scott knew that he wanted to be involved in film. Charles Chaplin and Woody Allen also became major influences and proved to be detrimental to the mental state of a three year old. Now a complete neurotic, Scott began devoting time to literature, developing an affection for a wide range of authors from Hunter S. Thompson to C.S. Lewis.
Scott realized that the one thing he’d always wanted to do was tell stories. He’d already made a host of short films and had written what could easily constitute a novel by the age of 16. He chose Florida’s Full Sail University for its accelerated program in Film Production, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in 18 months.
Scott returned home for a period of time after graduating from Full Sail. He and a friend created a film series based on the strong reaction from moviegoers standing in line to see The Dark Knight while Scott was dressed as the Joker. "TheJokerBlogs" debuted on YouTube on October 21, 2008. With its tightly-written scripts and sparse cinematography, the series has an enthusiastic and growing audience and it has become a worldwide sensation.
During this time, Scott relocated to Los Angeles to begin a career in film. He’s continued his education with the Groundlings School and Acting for Life. Always the story teller, Scott’s dream is to act, write, and direct and possibly try to attain a healthier sleep cycle.
